Written and directed by Richard Kelly, the film stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Donnie, a troubled high school student drawn into a strange countdown, visions of a rabbit-suited figure named Frank, and a series of events that blur teenage drama, science fiction, psychological suspense, and questions of fate.
