Onimusha: Way of the Sword is presented here in its Steelbook Edition for Xbox Series X. The latest entry in Capcom’s acclaimed Onimusha series returns to a dark fantasy version of Japan, where history, folklore, and supernatural horror intersect. Set in Edo-period Kyoto, the story follows Miyamoto Musashi, whose fate changes after he becomes armed with a mystical Oni Gauntlet and is drawn into battle against the monstrous Genma.

The game features sword-focused action built around precise combat, supernatural abilities, environmental hazards, and series mechanics such as Issen and Soul Absorption. Players will encounter legendary historical figures, including Miyamoto Musashi, whose face is modeled after iconic samurai film actor Toshiro Mifune, along with Sasaki Ganryu and other figures tied into the game’s dark fantasy setting. Locations include a twisted version of Kyoto, with recreations of real-world landmarks such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple, alongside surreal otherworldly environments.
