A Masterwork of Psychological Terror—Newly Restored Like Never Before

From the outer edges of the giallo genre comes a haunting tale of paranoia, power, and the desperate struggle to survive. For his debut feature, writer-director Aldo Lado (Who Saw Her Die?, Night Train Murders) crafted a uniquely suspenseful thriller culminating in “one of the best, truly shocking giallo finales ever put on film” (Collider).

Synopsis:
American foreign correspondent Gregory Moore (Jean Sorel, Belle de Jour) is preparing to leave Prague for a new job in London, taking his girlfriend Mira (Barbara Bach, The Spy Who Loved Me) with him—freeing her from the grip of Iron Curtain oppression. But when Mira suddenly vanishes, Gregory’s investigation into her disappearance reveals a world of political intrigue, superstition, and corruption.

And then his own body is found…

Pronounced dead but still conscious, Gregory is trapped in a state of living death—unable to move or speak as an autopsy approaches. With his mind racing and time running out, he silently screams the chilling truth: “I am alive!”

Also starring Ingrid Thulin (The Silence, Wild Strawberries) and Mario Adorf (The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, What Have They Done to Your Daughters?), this “intelligent and stylish giallo” (The Celluloid Highway) is newly restored in 4K Ultra HD from the original camera negative by Celluloid Dreams, with a 4-disc limited edition release loaded with special features.
