Super Mario Bros. Starring Bob Hoskins as Mario, John Leguizamo as Luigi, and Dennis Hopper as King Koopa, Super Mario Bros. was the first feature-length live-action film adaptation of a video game. The 1993 sci-fi adventure reimagines Nintendo’s iconic characters and Mushroom Kingdom as the strange dystopian world of Dinohattan, a parallel universe populated by humans who evolved from dinosaurs.

When Princess Daisy is kidnapped and taken into Dinohattan, Brooklyn plumbers Mario and Luigi find themselves pulled into another dimension. To rescue her and stop King Koopa’s plans, the brothers must navigate a bizarre world filled with Goombas, unusual technology, dangerous henchmen, and a plot that threatens both dimensions.

Directed by Rocky Morton and Annabel Jankel, the film has developed a substantial cult following since its original release.
